Picture Book – Biography Summary: This book
tells the story of Horace Pippin, a famous painter. When he was growing up,
Horace Pippin loved to draw with charcoal during his free time. Through the
years, his classmates, siblings, friends, soldiers, and anyone who knew him
would ask him to draw them a picture. Until one day, he could not because he
was shot in his right shoulder, making it too painful to move his arm. One
night, he decided to try and use the fire poker to carve pictures into wood.
Soon enough his arm became stronger and the famous painter N.C. Wyeth
encouraged him to have his own art show. Horace took this advice and became
famous! Interest
